It has come to our attention that next Wednesday is the first birthday of this blog. Hooray!
At the birthday celebrations, we'd like to give a special award for the best post. In order to determine what that post is, however, we'll need your input. What's been your favorite post on this blog to date?

Is that nepotism, or narcissism? I suppose that doesn't matter, since it's a vote!
ReplyDeleteNarcissism. But I still maintain that a No-Mass party would cut out all of Southern New England.
ReplyDeleteAn Open Letter to the Master of the Universe.
ReplyDeleteI think that I am going to have to agree with lionofzion and vote for "An Open Letter to the Master of the Universe." Although, it is very hard to chose. For example, there is a huge soft spot in my heart for "Muffins of Doom."
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm also narcissistic, but I love the November 6, 2009, post once named "Strange Dreams," but renamed "Why I Haven't Written in a While."
ReplyDeletehttp://goldbergish.blogspot.com/2009/11/strange-dreams.html
This post is beautifully and magically written, two of my favorite characteristics about James's writing.
While many other posts make me happy ("To Blave," "Kindergarten Eve," "Birthday Present," "Mahmoud's Facebook Page---some updates," "Why Children Hate Math," and the entire series with the Communist takeover), I have to settle on just one. The others are all runners up. Is that too many?
List as many runners-up as you want. We'll count them as half a vote each.
ReplyDeleteKira has debated between "First Day," "Kindergarten Eve," "Conspiracy!" (because it has a picture of Daddy), and "My Dream" ("Ha! That's funny").
ReplyDeleteBut, she wants to vote for "the pizza one": "Best Goldbergish Post Ever?" ("Where's mine?" she asked. I showed her the heart-shaped pizza, and she said, "It's huge.").
Okay, then I would like to add runner-up votes for "Mahmoud's Facebook Page" and "Why Children Hate Math". I know it just looks like I am copying what other people are voting for, and I am, but I feel like it is necessary to support something that has a chance to win. This probably proves that I will never be a true artist, though it may mean that I have a promising future as a souless producer of some sort. Anyway, I do really like those posts and, to jump on the narcissism train (which I am clearly already on), I think that I have a smoking-good comment on "Why Children Hate Math."
ReplyDeleteI vote for "Best Goldbergish Post Ever?" Tues. June 15, 2010 for three reasons.
ReplyDeleteFirst, there is a picture of a pizza face with what appear to be bleeding cucumber eyes--delightful and a bit strange (seriously, who puts cucumber on pizza?).
Second, the idea of a blog turning a year old and receiving for a birthday gift a post contained within itself that is voted by others to be its best feature is suspiciously and pleasantly communist--like having everyone who knows you vote on your best organ or body part and proclaim it your best as a birthday present to you. It's cheep and its tricky (which sounds like two reasons, but I assure you it is only one).
And third, I haven't bothered to read the rest of the posts. I'm very busy. Don't you judge me!
Dear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteYou are brilliant.

I will also vote for this current post.
ReplyDeleteThis post is the best. Ever.
