Had an interesting discussion with my younger brother about how flippancy and sarcasm are the dominant tone in popular and advertising culture. Wondered if that's because politicians work very hard to sound sincere, and none of us believe them anymore.

ReplyDeleteIn navigating through some of your blogs I am truly intrigued. You are an intelligent man and I appreciate things that make me think. I am not quite so intelligent but strive to higher aspirations continually.
My two cents worth is that sarcasm is overused but we all enjoy it so much I don't see it going away anytime soon. I find sarcasm more refreshing than most of the bold faced lies that get told with a straight face.
Congratulations on being one of my mother's childhood friends! That is a group so distinguished that, try as I might, I've never managed to become a part of it.
